‘What’s this?!’ you’re all asking.

Well…

It’s a new series of posts for me. And it’s only right that it starts while I’m sat in the sun enjoying myself!

Holiday packing as a bookworm is impossible. I’m not even joking.

A few weeks ago, I made a list of exactly what books I was going to take with me (limiting myself to just three), knowing that while I’m on holiday I will end up buying more books anyway. I’m all going to take my iPad so I can read on there, and I’ll make sure I’ve got plenty of eBooks waiting for me to read.

The problem is that it was easy to begin with. I bought the three books I wanted to bring with me, which meant there wasn’t any temptation. Then I went shopping again.

I say it every time – I won’t buy any more books until I’ve gotten down my TBR and I’m desperate to be reading more. But I had a full Waterstones stamp card burning a hole in my pocket. It’s pretty obvious what happened next.

Four new books down the line, I’m now faced with a horrible dilemma. How am I supposed to decide what books to take?!

So that post that you’ve probably already read about my holiday TBR? That was written a couple of weeks ago, when life was a lot easier?

How am I supposed to know what I will want to read when I go on holiday? I NEED CHOICES!!

How do you choose what books you are going to take on holiday? Let me know in the comments!

  1. I can relate! One time, we went on vacation and I brought five books with me and my iPad which I have loaded with dozens. While there, I ended up buying five more in a used bookstore. Packing is really hard when you’re a bookworm

    1. Somehow this time I’ve actually not done too bad! I brought 3 with me, got three more as birthday presents while I’m here, and then only bought one. I’ve got no idea where this self control came from! 😂 I’m usually like you, bringing loads and then buying loads more.

    1. I always worry about regretting my book choices so then I end up taking way too many as well. Set yourself a limit and it’ll make it a bit easier 😂

  2. I just take my Kindle. 🙂 Last time I went on a “beachy” holiday for 2 weeks I read at least 6 books; I can’t lay in the sun without a book to read. Normally I’d get through 2 to 3 in a week I think, but having my Kindle with me means I’m never short of a book.

    1. I’ve always got to have a book with me if I’m sat in the sun. This time I managed to get through 3.5 which I feel was pretty relaxed for me 😂 x
