I don’t usually post about my book hauls because lately they’ve been one or two books, but I went a bit mad in August! Here’s a list of everything I’ve got through August!
The only reason this is so late is that at the moment my posts are scheduled a month in advance, oops! The downsides of being organised!
The Best of Miranda – Miranda Hart
This is one of my sisters that she was getting rid of (along with quite a few of these!). I love Miranda and fancied a less serious book for a change. I love that there’s little bits of the scripts in there because lately I’ve really been into reading scripts. I think it’s the change in format that I’m enjoying.
Alice in Wonderland and Philosophy
Ever since I did my EPQ on Alice in Wonderland, I’ve been fascinated by the different theories behind it. I didn’t even know this book existed until it came up as a suggestion on my Amazon and now I can’t wait to read this.
What Alice Forgot – Liane Moriarty
I can’t remember exactly what made me buy this. It’s been on my Amazon Wishlist for a few months. I’ve got a feeling that I read a good review for it and added it straight away.
Gone – Michael Grant
This definitely isn’t something I would normally read. Again, this is one that my sister was getting rid of. I feel like it will be a good start to get me reading more different genres.
Specials and Extras – Scott Westerfield
Yet another couple from my sister! I’ve wanted to read this series for a while and although she didn’t have the first two books, at least I’ve got these now! All I need to do is work my way down my TBR until I’ve read enough to buy some more, then I can start this series.
It Only Happens in The Movies
I loved How Do You Like Me Now, so I decided to try some of her YA books. This one looks brilliant and like it has the potential to be quite funny.
Clean – Juno Dawson
I can’t even remember how long I’ve wanted to read this for. And the cover is so, so beautiful! It’s a rose gold colour and I really hope it suits the theme of the book.
Matched – Ally Condie
I remember reading part of this when I borrowed it from my secondary school library around seven years ago and I never finished it. It’s always been stuck in my head ever since. I really hope I can get into this series!
Windfall – Jennifer E. Smith
This is another one that I can’t even remember putting on my Wishlist. But the cover is beautiful and the plot seems like something I would be into.
Rapture (Bioshock) – John Shirley
I used to love playing Bioshock when I had the time so of course this was yet another one I wanted to nick when my sister was clearing out her books. It’s not my normal genre, but I’ll give it a go.
What good books have you bought lately? Let me know in the comments!
