I promised myself that I wasn’t going to buy any more books this year until I had worked through my TBR. It was going really well for the first couple of weeks – my TBR completely shrank!

But then I went into Nottingham, and it’s all downhill from there. I rewarded myself for getting so far down my TBR by… buying more books. But only four!

I repeat, I went into Waterstones alone and only bought four books. It’s a miracle.

It took me five minutes to get them to all stand up like this. You best appreciate it!

Really, with Are We All Lemmings and Snowflakes? I can excuse getting it because it was on my TBR on Amazon anyway, so I’m still working through my TBR. I loved Holly Bourne’s It Only Happens in the Movies and I’ve wanted to read all of her other books since that. I can’t wait to get into it! It was also on buy-one-get-one-half-price, which unfortunately meant I had to buy another book. What a shame.

So that’s when I picked up Outside. I haven’t heard anything at all about this, but I’m currently reading it and it’s amazing. It’s been a while since I’ve found a book that I just pick up on a whim, but this one seemed too good to walk past.

So you know how in Waterstones they do that thing where there’s staff reviews of books on shelf edges? That’s how I discovered Alex, Approximately. It’s not something I would have picked up otherwise because the blurb doesn’t seem like one of my normal books, but the review was so good and made it sound so interesting that I had to give it a try.

Finally, it’s time to move onto The Binding. Firstly, just look at the cover. Look at it.

It looks amazing. I’ve got to say, I’ve seen a few other bloggers on Twitter say they DNF’d their ARC, but I still feel like giving it a go. It’s set in the past, so it’s not in my normal genre, but I’m really hopeful for this one because it’s got the prospect of having an amazing plot.

Have you read any of these? Tell me your thoughts (good or bad!) in the comments!
