I disappeared for a while, and I’m sorry. While I’m working on some new posts for all of you, I thought it would be worthwhile for me to explain why I left my blog for a while.

The easy explanation would be to tell all of you about how busy work has been for me, but that’s not the complete reason why I haven’t been around.

In all honesty, I fell out of love with blogging. I didn’t make a decision to take a break, it just happened. I missed my posting schedule for one day, and then that turned into two, and then it just became however long I’ve been missing for.

But in my break, I did learn a few things, which I really feel will help my blogging in the future.

1. Scheduling doesn’t always work

Since mid-way through 2018, I’ve had a strict posting schedule, and it had gone really well for a while! I got into the swing of things, and I usually posted three posts every week. Which was amazing for someone who procrastinates everything.

However, I watched my quality dip, and quite suddenly begin rolling down a hill faster than I could run. I was forcing posts out so I had enough to post on my scheduled days, and the posts began getting shorter and shorter, and they really weren’t the quality I was aiming for.

I never wanted to feel pressured to write posts, but it came to the point where I did and I stopped enjoying blogging. I became a post-writing machine, writing articles that were lower-quality than Take a Break!

2. Let’s be honest

To force posts out, I wasn’t always being entirely honest, and this is one of the things I hate the most. Before disappearing, I decided to not take part in any further blog tours for the foreseeable. I wasn’t always honest in these posts, as I felt forced to have a positive opinion on the book just because the author would see my reviews.

I never wanted to lie to anyone, and I guarantee in the future, I definitely won’t.

So, for a while now, I won’t be using a posting schedule. I’ll be posting whenever I feel like it, and it will always be my absolute honest opinion.

I really hope I haven’t lost too many of you after my super-long break! And I really look forward to bringing you all some new posts!

Now, how about a quick re-brand for a fresh start? I will be slowly changing a few bits and bobs with the looks of my blog to make it more me.

Sammy x
